After the crust is out of the oven, brush it with BBQ sauce to your liking, assemble the pizza by adding the shredded mozzarella, onion, red pepper, jalapeno, pulled pork, and basil. (I like to mix-in a touch of BBQ sauce to the pork before topping.) Be sure to keep onions off one end of the pizza if you are serving one of my kids who can't stand onions! It will look about like this:
Place it in the oven and bake it about another 10 minutes and you'll have an awesome pizza. (If your BBQ sauce is low-carb enough, you might want to drizzle a little on top of the pizza.) Enjoy!
Recently I made a pulled pork pizza and the family was just crazy about it! We enjoy our pizza and it was a nice change-up to have something different in flavor profile. We get Costco's Pulled Pork which is already cooked and smoked and costs about 10 dollars for a couple of pounds.
Key to the recipe is finding a BBQ sauce that you are comfortable with. I didn't make my own for this pizza but found a decent enough sugar-free BBQ sauce in the local store that was relatively clean, ingredient-wise.
Here is what you'll need if you'd like to make it my way:
(Prepare crust per the instructions - needing shredded mozzarella, eggs, and oil)
Shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 of a medium-sized red onion
1/2 medium red pepper
1 large jalapeno
1-2 cups pulled pork
2-3 leaves of basil, chopped
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and prepare the crust. While the crust is in the oven, begin chopping the vegetables for the topping.
